Richard A. Posner said, "Some people prefer to get their knowledge of human nature from novels, but it doesen't follow that novels are a superior source of such knowledge to life and to the various genres of nonfiction." I believe that we can gain an insight into "human nature from novels." Posner also said we discover our real selves through literature. If you were reading aloud a grandparents or parents journal years down the road, and you came across a something that could be potentially harmful to the people who were listening, would you censor it or read it? Is changing the text to fit the audience ethical?
